چکیده
Objectives: Fetal growth restriction is associated with chronic fetal hypoxia, poor perinatal outcome and increased mortality. There are no reliable methods to detect cell damage in the central nervous system (CNS) these patients. The findings of an acidic calcium-binding protein (S100B) concentration biological fluids infants after brain injury have supported use S100B as a biochemical marker CNS damage. purpose study was assess blood concentrations small for gestational age (SGA) appropriate (AGA) newborns evaluate usefulness early detection hypoxia. Material methods: investigation carried out between November 2011 April 2014. Serum level assessed cord collected from birth. Medical records mothers neonates studied were reviewed pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH), preeclampsia, maternal smoking during abnormalities umbilical artery (UA) Doppler ultrasound examination. Results: 88 SGA 80 AGA neonates. median value group significantly higher than controls (p < 0.001). Cord serum prenatal normal UA (n = 32) did not differ that abnormal 25) 0.74), but Conclusions: Elevated levels may be helpful detecting at risk postnatal neurologic disturbances stage.

S100B and NSE serum concentrations after simulated diving in rats
The purpose of this study was to assess whether one could detect S100 calcium-binding protein B (S100B) and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) in serum of rats after a simulated dive breathing air, with the main hypothesis that the serum concentrations of S100B and NSE in rats will increase above pre-exposure levels following severe decompression stress measured as venous gas emboli (VGE). The dive ...
متن کاملSerum and cerebrospinal fluid S100B concentrations in patients with neurocysticercosis.
The clinical manifestations of neurocysticercosis (NC) are varied and depend on the number and location of cysts, as well as on the host immune response. Symptoms usually occur in NC when cysticerci enter a degenerative course associated with an inflammatory response. The expression of brain damage markers may be expected to increase during this phase. S100B is a calcium-binding protein produce...
متن کاملDay/night changes in serum S100B protein concentrations in acute paranoid schizophrenia
There are day/night and seasonal changes in biological markers such as melatonin and cortisol. Controversial changes in serum S100B protein levels have been described in schizophrenia. We aim studying whether serum S100B levels present day/night variations in schizophrenia patients and whether S100B levels are related to psychopathology. Sixty-five paranoid schizophrenic inpatients participated...

متن کاملSERUM GLUCOSE, BILIRUBIN, CALCIUM, PHOSPHORUS, PROTEIN AND ALBUMIN CONCENTRATIONS
Serum levels of glucose, bilirubin, calcium, phosphorus, protein and albumin were measured in a group of nine healthy men before, and on the first, 10th, 20th and 29th day of Rarnadan, and four weeks after Islamic fasting was terminated. There was a significant reduction in body weight, a significant increase in serum bilirubin and a slight decrease in calcium during Ramadan. Serum glucose decr...
